Get It While IT'S HOT!!!!

At the Moment I’m addicted To….

Beauty Says: This month I’ve found several little addictions….Check it out!

Filorga-Age Peel Treatment: I’ve been rather lazy this month, and since coming back from a trip from L.A. have had very dry and tired skin. This is why I’ve turned to for Filorga’s Age Peel Treatment for a full and fast recovery. This set is so easy to use as it is a non-granular peel that instantaneously lifts off all dead skin cells and unclogs pores. Simply wipe with the pre-wipe to prep the skin, and then smooth on a thin layer of the gel and leave on 5-10 min. I recommend this for those who have congested areas like the chin or blackheads on the nose too! This is one of the easiest solutions I’ve found so far with optimum results, and I’m addicted….are you? £56 (x5 treatments) only at www.marksandspencer.com

Love Your Skin-Complete Cleansing Crème Lotion: I absolutely want to stand on top of the highest building in London, to shout: THIS IS THE BEST CREAM CLEANSER IN THE WORLD! The Avocado Oil in this goes deep to enrich the skin and give it moisture balance while the ginseng gives the skin an energy boost. I use not just in the evening to cleanse off my make-up but also in the morning, as it goes to help prep my skin for moisturisers and make-up. The most light weight, non greasy cream cleanser I’ve used by far. £22.99/200ml at www.lys-london.com

Nails Inc. Floral!-The Flower Power Manicure: In preparation for the upcoming festival season, Nails Inc. has teamed up with Alexa Chung to bring us: Florals in their new polishes. The polishes have mini daisy flowers in them, and are super cute when painted on. The sparkles, and particles in them is what truly makes this polish a must-get –it-on this season! My top tip is to be sure to paint 2-3 coats so it stands out vividly.  £12 at  www.nailsinc.com

EYE SPY

What an Egg-cellent Idea!

I don’t know about any of you out there, but eggs are one of my top choices when it comes to the breakfast table. Now, how do you like your eggs? Sunnyside up? Perhaps boiled, with soldiers? Well, when it comes to boiling eggs, perhaps one of the most annoying details is that they can crack, and leak all over the pan. Also, who actually uses an egg cup?

I’ve found the perfect solution and the most egg-cellent idea leading up to the Easter season at Cuckooland in Eiko’s egg cup boilers. They conveniently hook to the side of the pan while they boil, so they sit still and don’t roll around. When the eggs are ready the boilers doubles up as an egg cup too! The cup holds the egg under the boiling water while the handles remain cool. They’re also scratch resistant and can withstand up to 200 degrees C. A set of 4 with matching egg spoons- in these eye popping colours are £12 at www.cuckooland.com

Bright Knits From BRORA is Fabulous for Weather Changes

Beauty Says: The weather seems to have a mind of its own these days, and can change within seconds. That’s why having a trusty cotton knit is essential to keep cool when it gets warmer while keeping you warm should it turn the other way. Layering is always an option, but sometimes, can we be bothered? And do we want to carry the extra piece around when it does get warm?

No one knows the dilemma’s of the weather changes better than BRORA. Best known for their Scottish Cashmere, they give us that ‘alternative’ in their linen and cotton. I’m in love with the vibrant colour blocks, print and styles that can easily translate from work to weekend and even the beach!  This mini capsule I’ve spotted are worthy of investment ranging from £85-£109.  Find it at www.brora.co.uk

Eye Spy says: Happy Easter everyone! Easter is a time to celebrate all the lovely things that the Spring season has to offer. This includes colour, and anything that is fresh, and crisp….it’s like sunshine in a box. I’ve sorted some cheeky treats that come in more forms than just chocolate eggs for all you chickadees out there. Come with me for an Easter carousel weekend of activities, food & fun!

Trend Two: Recently launched new online fashion retailer, Trend Two, are offering an array of products that are fabulously quirky, fun, and accessible. I’m absolutely ‘IN LOVE’ with the fox & owl over the shoulder bags that have popped up. Seen on SS’14 catwalks at LFW at shows such as Anya Hindmarch & Orla Kiely- handbags have made a transgression from being ‘IT’ bags to more of being accessories that can make us laugh and lighten up in animal shapes or among other silly things like soap boxes. Bookmark this site for Easter weekend web surfing on the phone or portable devices, as there are plenty of lovely things to ogle at.

If you’ve been planning for that upcoming summer get away and looking for holiday essentials such as swimsuits, shoes, or maxi dresses this is a great site as it is oh so affordable. I’m sure you’ll be finding more than two trends you’ve been following on this site: www.trendtwo.com

Pretty Cuppa: No, this is not another bit about beauty or a spa-not at all! Pretty Cuppa is a new café onBrick Lane within the Spitafields area. If you find yourself wandering the markets on the weekend, and feel like you need a bit of something stop here because the cakes are all handmade with love and care. The café has a welcoming feeling to it without being like your standard Starbucks or Costa. The staff are incredibly friendly and they give you something to take away too: A smile.

Pretty Cuppa is at 178 D Brick Lane E1 6SA, www.prettycuppa.com

This Easter, Indulgence is in an Anesis Facial

Beauty Says: With the Easter holidays coming up ahead in a few days we’re all looking for ways to relax or perhaps an egg-citing activity to do. (That is besides the egg hunting that happens on Easter Sunday.) Might I recommend hopping down to Anesis Spa in Clapham Common for a most soothing treatment? The key difference with Anesis is that they’ve got their very own cosmeceutical skincare range of products that was specially developed by plastic surgeons and Harley Street specialists. I’ve recently tried and tested their Advanced Super Boost Facial

and let me tell you that it is one of best inLondonfor independent spas.

The decor of the rooms may not be everyone’s cup of tea as the only way to describe is that it is a bit modern and cosmic -having said that, the decor doesn’t take away from the quality of the treatment whatsoever. Some other highlights of the treatment is the extra care and attention or quality time you get in terms of other areas of the body such as the shoulders, a bit of the back and of course, the chest and d?collet?. Usually I am disappointed in most facials I go to because there is very little attention paid to the shoulders, back or chest. At best one can expect only an arm or hand massage. I believe the massage of the shoulders and chest really help one relax and let go in order to enjoy the facial. There is also great control and adjustments that are made during and throughout the facial. For example, if you feel that the exfoliator is too strong or tingly, simply just say so, and it will be removed and cooling gel is immediately applied on. In this way, it is one of the most accommodating treatments. (I guarantee that you will not be left along in the room, but well looked after throughout the whole treatment.)  The only way I can describe my entire experience there was that I felt in incredibly safe and capable hands and in a zone of pure comfort.

The results of the facial are also staggering. This facial does not leave your skin soaked full of product, or too greasy. Skin feels soft, well hydrated, and plump. In fact, even after more than two weeks since my facial, the results have lasted, and my skin is still glowing, clear and flawless. For those who are looking for treatments that do extractions Anesis is definitely for you. The therapists here are highly skilled and trained in the art of carefully removing and unclogging troubled areas.

Anesis is more than just a spa though, as it is also a clinic and a hair salon. There are tons of treatments to choose from even for pregnant women, those with skin irritations such as acne, IPL hair reduction, decadent hot stone massages….the list goes on and on….

So this Easter weekend, why not indulge yourself in something more than just chocolate bunnies or marshmallow chicks? Immerse yourself at Anesis and rise with the most exuberant GLOW!

To book go to www.anesis.co.uk or call 0207 627 1500. Anesis is conveniently located across the road from the Clapham Common tube station at 14 The Pavement Clapham London SW4 0HY.

Face Perfection Is In Eve Lom’s: Radiance-Perfecting Complexion Range

Beauty Says: To say that Eve Lom’s newest edition of complexion products is ‘radiance perfecting’ is an understatement. Traditionally known since 1985 for her cleanser, and skincare range that followed suit, Eve Lom has become one of the beacon’s of light when it comes to skincare brands. This February the brand has gone the extra mile by harnessing the power of botanical stem cells and put it into a make-up range that not only minimises imperfections, but also goes to hydrate, firm and protect. I’m in love with this range and have to give you the 4-1-1….

I had first used this range without the primer to see and prove to myself just how hydrating the product could be. I did this because often I am disappointed by the hype of new launch products that claim ‘hydration’. Often, the case is that they feel good when you first put them on but as the day goes by they can not wear as well. At the end of my first day of trial I was mighty impressed with the results and strength of this particular range. The skin not only looked flawless but also exhumed a natural glow and brightness. I have tested these products in the soaring temperatures of L.A, as well, and let me tell you can they stand the heat! During a whole day at Universal studio’s and on rides all day, my make-up did not shift or melt. I have had numerous compliments of how beautiful and smooth my skin looked and everywhere everyone is wondering what I have been using.

Here are the key pieces I’ve used and how I’ve found using them:

Flawless Radiance Primer: I start with The Flawless Radiance Primer. A dallop of the size of a 5p coin will do. The secret behind this little number is that Eve Lom puts in BerryFlux Vita which goes deep to moisturise and prepare the skin to take in the pigments of the foundation. There is also Sand Lily Extract in it to brighten, and niacinamide to strengthen the skin. My top tip: Do not try to use too much of the primer because you like the soft texture or the way it glides on your skin-remember, less is more! £40.

Radiance Lift Foundation: There are 15 shades in this foundation, and shades to 100% match every skin tone. My perfect match is #3-Ecru. There is SPF15 in this foundation and again BerryFlux Vita to moisturise. The lifting part comes in it containing Para Cress Flower extract. When I smooth the foundation over and work it into the skin it sinks in immediately, and then almost disappears as immediately in a powder texture. Without using concealer, it conceals on it’s own most imperfections, so make sure you only touch up with concealer for areas like under eyes only once you have used the foundation. £50

Brilliant Cover Concealer: Coming in 6 shades this concealer disguises blemishes and other imperfections. It contains age-defying sea fennel which encourages cellular renewal. This is exceptionally good news for those who are looking to heal blemises as well. The formula also is light-diffusing so it gives a soft-focus effect. My top tip to use this is in areas underneath the eyes and around the nose area. I also urge you to try it on your eyelids as it prevents shifting of eye make-up too! £30

Sheer Radiance Translucent Powder: Now what I truly love about this powder is that it that it has a built in brush-this is incredibly easy to carry for travel or in the handbag everyday. I dust this all over once I have applied the Radiance Lift Foundation. It gives the skin not only a transparent finish but also encourages skin elasticity and again a hydration. These qualities are rare in powders and throughout the day I have found this powder to not be drying or cakey. Comes in 1 transparent shade for all! £42.

Golden Radiance Bronzing Power: Finally, the one final touch and my favourite next in line to the Radiance Lift Foundation is the Bronzer. It comes in 2 shadesSunrise, and Sunset. I would recommend Sunset for the girls who like to tan or use fake tan products. Otherwise, most will be good withSunrise. Again, the bronzing power is built into the brush. Be sure to gently dust the cheekbone area, forehead, and chin, as the bronzer can appear too dark if you apply too much. The glow from this bronzer can not be compared to any other so for those who have had a hard time finding the right bronzer, definitely give this a go. With the same key ingredients which give the skin elasticity and moisture, can you lose with this? I think not….£42.

The verdict is in ladies, Eve Lom’s new Radiance Perfecting Complexion Products are this season’s answer to new skin! Be sure to look into other options in the range too such as the Light Illusion Concealer, Radiance Perfected Tinted Moisturiser, and Natural Radiance Mineral Poweder Foundation. Find all these pieces at www.evelom.com and www.spacenk.com

The Review & Other Neat Stuff

Beauty's Abi Fabi Edit

Beauty & The Beast Has A Hair-Raising Experience

Beast Says: I’ve recently had a hair-raising experience with some new and superb hair products on the market. These new additions are unique as they multi-task, and give revitalization and lift to hair while being gentle and nourishing. Beast (my hair) is impressed and says they’re pure purr-fection!

Hair O’Right-Green Tea Tree in a Bottle: This is no regular shampoo, as it is so refreshing it literally makes hairs stand up on its ends. Known having 360 degree sustainability in their product lines, Hair O’Right Haircare from Taiwan, sources all their ingredients organically. In fact, they are so organic, it goes right down to their packaging-‘Tree in a Bottle’-where the bottle itself, if put back into the ground will become fertilizer for another new tree to grow. ECOCERT certified their shampoos contain: goji berry, purple rose, and ginkgo leaf. The first time I used this product, I was amazed because although it is a natural hair care product, it did not strip any of my colour during the wash. Later, I found out that this shampoo was designed and formulated to prevent oxidization.

It also has a delightful tingly sensation and incredibly refreshing. The smell is clean and just of green tea. The proof is always in the blow dry or afterwards and my hair was just so full of life and bouncy. It has been ages since I’ve used a hair care product with this much impact upon first use. With many other formulations to choose from, and other products such as conditioner, hair treatments and styling products, get your hair as happy and lively as SPRING with Hair O-Right products (Green Tea Tree in a Bottle shampoo 250ml £15.75) at www.hair-oright.co.uk

Macadamia Natural Oil’s-FLAWLESS: Cliche as it might sound, FLAWLESS, can indeed be classified as the desert island product of the year. If you’re looking to pack lightly for upcoming holidays, be sure to grab a bottle of this and pay attention! Containing two key ingredients: macadamia nut + argan oil, this product goes to cleanse, condition, detangle, volumnize, frizz eliminate, and reduce blow drying time by 50%. There are no surfactants in the product which means that it won’t strip moisture from the hair shaft and contains no parabens. Upon first use, I was afraid that this product might weigh by hair down. It came out like a rich coco butter-like paste or mousse from the pump. The top tip for using this product is to leave it on for 5 min and let it absorb or work it in from root to tip before rinsing out. I was impressed that this product also did not strip any of my colour away, and also had very little bubbles when being rinsed out-an excellent sign that it is indeed natural! After blow dry, I have to say that the hair felt soft, manageable and somehow had a natural bounce to every strand/curl. I also noticed incredible shine and a revitalised lift. I would recommend this to anyone going on holidays as it no doubt would be great for after sun too. You can use it after regular shampoo, but it is just as effective on its own for both cleansing and all the other benefits mentioned. You won’t be stranded with it, £8.75/90ml; £25.75/250ml at www.macadamiahair.co.uk or at www.harveynichols.com

Percy & Reed’s Wonder Balm: Something happens as the weather changes in the Spring, and suddenly we find ourselves wanting to be more sexy. Believe in this miracle, as if you strike Percy & Reed’s new Wonder Balm to your hair, you might feel that magic. Although it sounds an unnecessary step to apply, a primer/foundation to your other hair styling products, Wonder Balm does not just protect, but also gives other styling products maximum efficacy. It works wonders as it gives you more control. I’ve used this product in particular with my curling wand and found it useful in making curls last or hold for longer. It is indeed another nifty secret that has landed not on our laps but on our heads! Get styling with your own bottle £18/75ml at www.percyandreed.com

Pur Mineral Achieves ‘The No Make-Up Look’

Beauty Says: Over the years I’ve heard customers speak to consultants and artists in beauty halls and ask for ‘natural looks’. Perhaps what is considered to be the most mind boggling requests are ones that ask for ‘a no make-up look’- on a full colour cosmetic counter. It seems that nothing is impossible these days and Pur Minerals has indeed achieved ‘The No Make-Up Look’ with their new product line: The Complexion Enhancing SS’14 Collection. What I do love about this brand is the added skincare benefits that built within the products. This season Pur Minerals has added age-defying wine extracts in collaboration with wine vineyards fromBordeaux. With reservatrox and vitisin, two ingredients from grapes that help reverse ageing and protect the skin from UV light, this new range is unstoppable for its cell renewal properties! FYI, this new initiative from Pur Minerals is called ‘Farm to Jar’ and promises beauty even after the make-up comes off.

Not since the discontinuation of the ‘bubble blusher’ from Guerlain, have I seen a blusher that blends as beautifully as the powder blushers in this collection. They blend and sink into the skin instantly, and leave the most natural glow. My favourite and suggested shade is: ‘KINKY’

£19.50 each, comes in 6 shades.

The Mineral lippies in this collection comes in 10 mouth- watering shades. They go on extremely silky and smooth while being extremely long wearing. My top tip is to just dab and blot for that extra kissed by the sun, no make-up look for the summer. £16 each.

Finally the glosses are not only packed with pigment and colour but have extra oomph as they plump up the lips. £16. For everyday easy to wear make-up, look no further than this range, as it promises to enhance your natural beauty!  Get them only at M&S www.marksandspencer.com

Print VS Block Colours at GOAT Fashion

This season’s key trend of either block colours or print is easy to do and follow. I’ve taken in some inspiration from one of my favourite brands, Goat Fashion.

Mint green is always a great colour to wear in the spring and summer as it is fresh and uplifting. This season Goat has collaborated this great colour in an easy to wear print in their dresses and this ‘Rodeo Skirt’. Dress down and make it more casual with plain t-shirts or tops, or dress it up with a embellished cardigan or jacket. Which ever way you choose to wear it, it’s a winner!

If you choose to wear block colours make sure that the colours go or compliment each other. Don’t be afraid to go BOLD and go with a red like in this jacket. Red is a great colour to bring some blush to the face, and lift darker colours for the office such as black, navy or grey.

Pastels are clearly everywhere now on the high street, as this pastel blue dress. Make sure the piece you choose has a good cutting that compliments your shape, as pastels can add pounds to any figure. I’m loving this dress as it’s more forgiving to girls who are more rounded in their shape.

Make sure your print is not too busy have too many colours in it, as it can make others dizzy while looking at you. This print is perfect for the day time as it being black and white still has an aura of being pristine. Jazz it up with some gold or silver jewellery to lift, but not distract. Wear with trousers, skirts, or even shorts and your regular black/white jackets. It will be become the piece de resistance in the wardrobe of the season!
